2018 Department of Physics Graduate Program Admissions

(一)Admissions Application

1.Review of Application Materials: 40%

2.Admissions Interview: 60%

3.Other materials that are helpful for review (such as project reports, etc.).

4.Download the recommendation letter template: http://www.phy.cycu.edu.tw/ and click on ‘Admissions Information.

5.All the review materials mentioned above must be submitted before the registration deadline. Please refer to page 5 of the Bachelor’s Degree Admissions Guide.

Scoring Items:

1.All annual undergraduate or post-secondary transcripts (including class rankings).

2.Two or more recommendation letters (an assistant professor or a more prestigious member in a physics-related department of each university is recommended. ) Please download the recommendation letter template from the website or get it from the Department office.)

Vacancy Retention Policy:

If there are vacancies in the entrance exam, they will be retained until the exam is full.

(二)Entrance Exam

Materials to Submit:

1.All annual undergraduate or post-secondary transcripts (including class rankings).

2.Two or more recommendation letters (an assistant professor or more prestigious member in a physics-related department is recommended. Recommendation letters can be mailed (or submitted) to the Department of Physics office by 30 January 2018 (Tue.) Please download the recommendation letter template from the website or get it from the Department office.)

3.Project plan report or study proposal.

4.Other materials that are helpful for review.

5.Materials that need to be submitted for in-service students:

  • Photocopies of academic certificates.
  • Proof of employment (issued after January 1st, 2018).
  • Proof of employment of one year or more.

 

Scoring Items:

1.Review of Application Materials: 30%

2.Admissions Interview: 70%

Vacancy Retention Policy:

1. Retained vacancies for regular students and in-service studentsmay be used interchangeably.

2.In case vacancies exist from admissions applications, entrance exams may fill said vacancies. Regular students are to be admitted preferentially, and in-service students may obtain positions only when there are no general students.
